RACE FAQ

Here we can help with the most popular questions about our events and any information you might need.

What is SRMS?

Street Racing Made Safe (SRMS) is the only national 501©3 solution to illegal street racing

Do we need helmets?

Yes. Helmets are required to race at all SRMS events regardless of vehicle speed, local and state laws.

Can I run Slicks?

Yes. Please review the SRMS Rule book for specific regulations.

How does roll racing work?

The concept is that you race another vehicle from a rolling start where SRMS provides 20mph/40mph and 60mph*** rolling starts. You set off from the Racing Control (SRMS Official) to begin to reach your pre-determined speed (20/40/60) until you reach the indicated start. Drivers are to keep their cars as lined up as possible with their opponents until the start point. Once the race is over, drivers can spectate or get back in the staging lanes and race all night.

***60mph rolls only apply at tracks with ample staging areas.

Can we do regular drag racing( DIG) at your events?

Yes, but there is no water box and time slips are not given out. The win light indicates the winner of the race with trap speed (MPH) displayed.

What do we do in the staging lanes?

Once you’ve paired up with who ever you are going to race you can drive into your designated lanes for your race type. Make sure your in front of or behind the person you are racing and in the correct lane so racing can happen as efficiently as possible.
